Horizontal Blinds
Measuring for installations INSIDE the window frame
Measure exact width and height as shown. Measure both width and height at two or more locations and use the smallest measurements.
Measuring for installations OUTSIDE the window frame (wall mount)
Measure the exact width and height of the area you wish to cover. Horizontal blinds are usually measured to fully overlap the window frame. If there is no frame, allow a minimum of 1½" overlap on the top, bottom and each side of the window.


Vertical Blinds
Measuring for installations INSIDE the window frame
Measure exact width and height as shown. Measure both width and height at two or more locations and use the smallest measurements. Note: for installations the depth of the window must be at least 2¾".
Measuring for installations OUTSIDE the window frame (wall mount)
Measure the exact width of the area to be covered. Allow at least 4" of overlap on each side of the window to ensure privacy.

Width of blind =
Width of frame + 8 Inches


Measure the lenght of the blind starting at least 2" above the window frame opening. The blind should hang at least 3" below the bottome of the window frame or opening.

Note: if the blind is to hang to the floor, leave ½" clearance between the bottom of the blind and the floor or carpet.
